FAQ

How did you get into Wedding Videography?
Someone really enjoyed one of my films and asked me to shoot their wedding.

How many weddings have you shot? How many weddings do you do per year?
I have shot over 100 weddings over the past 4 years and I do about 25 a year.

How far in advance should we contact / book you?
Most people book me within 3-6 months of their wedding date. I’ve had people book me a week prior to their date and as far back as two years in advance. I get inquiries all the time and there are only so many available dates, so I recommend that you at least contact me as soon as you can to make sure that I have your date available.

How do we book you?
To secure a date, I require a contract and deposit. Contact me for any questions about availability.

Do you shoot in HD? / What camera do you shoot with?
I shoot using a Panasonic professional broadcast video camcorder and Canon HDSLRs (photo cameras that shoot video). Check out this page for more information about the equipment I use. If you have any questions or preferences, please let me know. I’d be happy to discuss with you the specifics of each.

What do you edit with?
For editing I use Final Cut and Adobe Premiere.

What do you do for sound
I used to freelance as a sound operator on films, so I always get professional quality sound. My audio equipment includes a combination of shotgun mic, lavaliers, and small sound recorders. For more information, check out this page.

Where do you shoot? / Where do you do weddings?
Most of my work is in New York City. From time to time I have also done events in Long Island, Northern New Jersey, Westchester, Southern Connecticut and the Hudson Valley. I have shot at 583 ParkBridgewatersBrookyln Botanical GardensBryant Park GrilleCapitaleCentral Park BoathouseConservatory Gardens, The Inn at New Hyde ParkThe Stone Mill at NY Botanical Gardens,  Studio 450Tribeca Rooftop, Waterside, Water’s Edge, and several other places.

Do you charge for travel?
For weddings or receptions that occur outside of New York City, I charge a small travel fee to cover costs.

Do your prices include tax?
Yes. My rates include tax.

Do you bring an assistant / second shooter?
For those that are interested I do offer an add-on for a second shooter. Having an additional shooter allows me to shoot everything live from two different angles and makes for a better looking video. It is someone who works for me using the same equipment that I do. If you hire me to do a one camera shoot, then I’ll be working alone.

How long is the video?
The entire video can vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours. The High Light Video Montage can be anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes and the real time videos are the length of the different events. So for example if the wedding ceremony is 20 minutes, then the video of the ceremony will be 20 minutes.

Do the Discs come with chapters and a menu?
Yes. The videos are organized into chapters that can be accessed through a menu. The disc will play the whole way through or you can pick and choose what you want to watch via the menu.

Do you offer Raw Footage?
I offer Raw Footage as a courtesy separate from my other video services. Raw footage is anything that I have shot but have not edited or touched up. It is the raw video that I use to put together the Final Cut. If you provide a full capacity empty Mac-compatible hard drive, then I will transfer all the raw unedited footage free of charge. The drive has to be Mac-compatible.

If you want raw footage and need a hard drive, please buy Lacie RuggedLacie Rikiki or G-Tech hard drives from B&H.
